- טַשְׁיוּתָא
- טַשְׁיוּתָאf. (preced.) that which is reserved, future, compenstion. Targ. Ps. 17:14. Targ. Job. 20:26 br/> p style="font-weight:bold; font-size:16pt; margin-top:72pt; text-align:center;" lang="en-US"> p style="font-size:12pt; margin-top:18pt; text-indent:18pt;" lang="en-US"> י יYod, the tenth letter of the Alphabet. It interchanges with ו, e. g. יָדַע a. וַדַּאי; with א as יבד a. אבד; with ה, v. letter ה.י is frequently a mater lectionis for ē, ĕ, and ī, ĭ, e. g. לֵילֵךְ, לֵישֵׁב (for b. h. לָלֶכֶת, לָשֶׁבֶת); הֶיסֵּב = הֶסֵּיב, דִּיבּוּר = דִּבּוּר.יי is frequently used to indicate the consonantal value of י, as הִתְיָירֵא = הִתְיָרֵא.
